I hope that SAND is moving on to stay simple! Otherwise i‘d wish to be able, to choose between a „simple to use“ SANDsequencer and a „feature-rich“ SANDdaw ; )

there is an infamous Linux-only piece of software called MusE.
it has two modes – MIDI-only sequencer and full-blown DAW.
Sand could borrow this if it gets too many DAW features.
the main difference is obvious – sequencer timing has to be rock solid and predictable, while DAWs involve various delay compensations related to audio tasks, so DAW timing is always a trade-off.
